Kelvin Kilonzo (civil Burkard) is a contemporary dancer and actor based in berlin. He studied acting at the Theater Akademie Köln and contemporary dance at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.

He’s been collaborating with musicians and bands just as much as he worked with dancers and companies. He has a strong connection to the urban dance scene, which he started of from. He currently works with Anne Imhof and recently collaborated with Staatsoper unter den Linden. He is part of Sasha Waltz & Guetsts, Mouvoir Company and works with plenty of solo musicians and dance collectives around Europe.

He is also an award winning actor, making his debut with ‚Toro’ at the Berlinale in 2017 and winning his last award for ‚best actor‘ with The Third King at the Revolution ME Festival New York. His most recent series ‚start the fck up‘ and ‚Ein Hauch von America‘ are currently available on ARD and ZDF.

Together with experimental trumpetist and performer Pablo Giw, he founded the performance duo GIW & Kilonzo in 2016. This alliance has led to a multitude of interdisciplinary performance and video works in collaboration with institutions and artists all across Europe. A new film is currently being planned in connection with a performance project entitled SUM.

Kelvin Kilonzo (bürgerl. Burkard) ist ein zeitgenössischer Tänzer und Schauspieler aus Berlin. Er studierte Schauspiel an der Theaterakademie Köln und zeitgenössischen Tanz an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.

Er arbeitet ebenso viel mit Musikerinnen und Bands, wie mit Tänzerinnen und Companies. Er ist ursprünglich urbaner Tänzer, was seine Handschrift sehr geprägt hat. Seit 2020 arbeitet er mit Anne Imhof zusammen, er ist Teil von Sasha Waltz & Guetsts, Mouvoir Company und arbeitet mit vielen Solomusikerinnen und Tanzkollektiven in ganz Europa zusammen.

Er ist auch ein preisgekrönter Schauspieler, der 2017 sein Debüt mit „Toro“ auf der Berlinale gab und seinen letzten Preis als „Bester Schauspieler“ mit „The Third King“ beim Revolution ME Festival New York gewann. Seine aktuellsten Auftritte in den Serien „start the fck up“ und „Ein Hauch von America“ laufen derzeit auf ARD und ZDF.

Zusammen mit dem experimentellen Trompeter und Performer Pablo Giw gründete er 2016 das Performance-Duo GIW & Kilonzo. Diese Verbindung hat zu einer Vielzahl interdisziplinärer Performance- und Videoarbeiten in Zusammenarbeit mit Institutionen und Künstlern in ganz Europa geführt. Aktuell sind die Dreharbeiten für einen neuen Film geplant, der in Zusammenhang eines Performance Projekts mit dem Titel SUM.
